Sega has just announced some exciting news for all the Project Diva F fans out there! Project Diva F 2nd will soon be released in Japan, and in light of that release Sega has confirmed that the game will be released in the West this fall on both PS3 and PS Vita! Since Project Diva F 2nd is one of the titles in our featured games list, this is of course very relevant to Segalization as well, and we’re glad to see Sega has decided to continue support the franchise. Sega also noted the success of the Project Diva F’s release in the Western market, and thanked the fans for their support. This time around, they have also confirmed that both versions of the game will receive a retail release, although it’s not clear if Europe will get those as well.
EDIT: Sega’s Aaron Webber has confirmed on the US PSN blog that the EU will be receiving a physical version of the game as well!
The game will feature a total of 40 songs, a collection of both new songs and classic songs from previous Project Diva games. It’s a number that is in total not too distant from Project DIVA F/f, but the combined 44 tracks for F 2nd’s predecessor also involved DLC and both PS3 and Vita systems. The last two tracks were announced yesterday through Dengeki Playstation. Gematsu reports that they are Kagerou Days and The Intense Singing of Hatsune Miku; the former is a track new to Project DIVA although an already popular Vocaloid series song, and the latter is a returning track. The gameplay remains largely the same as that of its predecessor with some new gameplay elements being added such as double scratch notes. Also making a return are the DIVA room and character modules (both from previous games and new ones). Aside from this, the game also features an improved Edit Mode, giving players more freedom in creating their own videos.
