While Phantasy Star Online 2 remains delayed indefinitely in the West, it will soon be getting an English beta in Asia between the 10th and 13th of April. Predictably, the official Facebook page for this version of the game is getting flooded with questions regarding whether or not there will be IP bans for people outside of the officially supported regions for the game. It seems the situation is still unclear as to whether or not this will be the case, but several Western gaming websites have already been giving away keys for access to the beta.
It’s safe to say that Sega has handled the Western release of the game quite poorly. Kotaku’s Jason Schreier has recently posted a new article highlighting how Sega’s silence disrespects their biggest fans. In his talk to a Sega representative, he was still told the game is still “delayed”. It’s certainly disappointing to see Sega continue to keep their own fans in the dark regarding the state of the game’s release in the West. Let’s just hope that Sega’s recent April Fools prank is a sign of things to come.
Bad company incapable of making good choices with its IPs. Just boycott their shitty products and move along. No sense in heartbreak from something that won’t be released due to ineptitude.
Well till this game comes out FF reborn will keep me busy later sega!
