Our readers may remember a poll from Operation Rainfall’s website last year, where they let people vote on which Konami and Sega games they wanted to see localized the most. LAI, a company specializing in game localization, would then take those results to those companies and try to make a deal with them. On the Sega side, Yakuza was the most requested game, followed by Valkyria Chronicles 3. LAI and Operation Rainfall have now reported the results of LAI’s discussions with the companies involved. Unfortunately, it’s not good news. You can read their update on the Operation Rainfall website, but in short neither Sega or Konami were interested in making a deal with them.
While this may be disappointing to hear, we should of course take into account that we don’t know the details behind the discussions between Sega and LAI, so it’s difficult to really judge where things wents wrong. Regardless, it was good to see the Sega fans respond in large numbers to the poll. Of course, we at Segalization will continue to do our part in making your voice heard.
