Although Sega Europe was already confirmed to be handling the publishing of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, it’s now been revealed that there will be a special edition of the game called Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Fan edition. Unfortunately, like the Persona Q limited edition, this Persona 4 Ultimax Fan edition will also be a retailer exclusive. The special edition can only be ordered from Rice Digital, and contains a T-Shirt (of which the design will be determined through a community vote) and the first set of Tarot cards (the second set is included in NISA’s Persona Q Wild Cards edition).
In the US, the Tarot cards are not retailer exclusive, meaning you can preorder from your retailer of choice and still get all the bonus items. Similarly, Persona Q’s Wild Card edition is not a retailer exclusive in the US either. It’s unfortunate that the EU fans are being limited in their choice of retailer if they want to get the special editions, but the good news is that Rice Digital’s pricing seems far more reasonable than NISA Europe’s pricing for Persona Q’s Wild Card edition. The Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Fan edition can be ordered for £37.99 (€49 or $62), which is basically the normal price for a new console game in Europe, and they appear to ship worldwide so there’s no region limit. The game will be available on November 21st, less than a month after the US release (a welcome change, given how long EU fans usually had to wait for their Atlus games).
