Sega has released a patch for the PC version of Valkyria Chronicles, fixing several issues that people have reported since the release of the game. Here’s the list of fixes included in the patch:
• Fixed issues with tank movement at high frame rates.
• Increased mouse sensitivity.
• Fixed issues with audio balance in stereo/5.1.
• Fixed rare crashes relating to memory allocation (e.g. when viewing unit stats in battle and exiting the HQ in book mode).
The issue with the tank movement is one that had been reported by people playing at a framerate higher than 60 frames per second. It appears this had an impact on the physics of the game, in particular for tanks which couldn’t drive up certain slopes. The mouse sensitivity is something I also noted in my first impressions article, and it’s great to see they have increased the sensitivity based on user feedback. Valkyria Chronicles on PC was already a solid PC conversion, but this patch has only made the game even better.
