Shining Resonance: Three New Gameplay Videos, Featuring Drag Machina

Gamersyndrome recently caught wind of three new battle demos of Shining Resonance. These appear to be demos of the Trial Version that was available for public testing earlier this month. Each of these three videos feature some random encounters and then end with a fight against one of the Drag Machina. The battles are set to easy mode. Continue reading to check these videos out.

PS3『シャイニング・レゾナンス』公式プレイ動画 Vol.1(ゲイボルグ戦編)

This first scenario mostly features a party of Yuuma, Sonia, Lesti, and Kirika, as they eventually take on Gae Bolg. Players start in what I’ll tentatively call Windia. It’s the same area where the battle demos from a few days ago took place. Eventually, after moving through a forest and taking down a griffon the party fights Gae Bolg. We see from this video that both party and enemy characters seem to have special skills that can be activated under certain conditions. Yuuma used a skill that covered his sword in fire, while Gae Bolg summoned an icy tempest.

PS3『シャイニング・レゾナンス』公式プレイ動画 Vol.2(トリシューラ戦編)

This second video is against Trishula and mostly features a party of Sonia, Kirika, Rinna, and Yuuma. Note here that Sonia can spring remarkably fast in the overworld for short bursts at a time, which can be helpful for impatient players like myself. This however is a feature available to any character. Leading up to the Trishula fight, we see a short cutscene featuring Excella. During the fight itself, the player frequently guards at the right time, which is important since Trishula is aggressive and has fast, wide-ranging attacks.

PS3『シャイニング・レゾナンス』公式プレイ動画 Vol.3(グングニル戦編)

This last video mostly features a party of Lesti, Agnam, Kirika, and Yuuma, waging war against Gungnir. The video offers some decent insight into the battle capabilities of Lesti and Kirika, and we see for the first time a battle that takes place on a slightly sloped surface. I haven’t written about it yet, but I’d like to say I love how random encounters feature an enemy’s level above their head, reminiscent of Xenoblade. Gungnir becomes more threatening over time as he summons more bolts of lightning and pulses of electricity across the battlefield.
