Chisa Yokoyama is a voice talent who’s contributed much to Japanese video games. Most notably to Sega fans, she is Sakura Shinguji, the de facto face of the Sakura Wars series. She not only has voiced Sakura in video games and animation projects, but also performed for stage shows as Sakura Shinguji and even appeared in a Sega commercial (with the Segata Sanshiro of legend) as Sakura Shinguji.
She’s been busy as of late – in 2014 she gave birth to her first child (congrats to her!) But she seems to be more active, with her lines for Project X Zone 2 likely already recorded and a couple of Sakura Wars concerts planned for the end of October in Japan. These concerts exclusively feature music from the Sakura Wars franchise. There is one concert on the 30th (featuring Michie Tomizawa, a.k.a. Sumire Kanzaki, a.k.a. The Greatest) and two concerts on the 31st; the first of which features Urara Takano (Maria Tachibana, who is also cool) and the second featuring Yuriko Fuchizaki (Li Kohran.) The poster image below is being used to promote the concerts.
The Live stage shows featuring the Sakura Wars characters have been ongoing for a couple of years. Last year the Paris Floral Assault Troupe held stage shows, for example, but Yokoyama’s understandable absence meant holding shows for the Imperial Floral Assault Troupe wasn’t feasible. In any case, she’s certainly hitting the ground running! It’s nice to see her so dedicated to the Sakura Wars franchise.
well i was there, and i cant wait to be there for the next concert.
hope there will be a live concert for the 20th anniv.
I imagine that must have been quite the experience! Did you go to Japan specifically to view the concert?
yes, it was amazing! i already planned the japan trip before i knew there will be a concert, when i red the news in this website, i immediately change my date so i could watch it.
i didnt expect Chisa Yokoyama to sang live that well given her age.
it was a mini concert, probably around 150-200 audiences but the atmosphere was great, the audience really showed their enthusiasm.
i cant wait for this year 20th anniversary, i hope they will held another big concert.
heres the link for Sakura Taisen Budoukan 15th anniversary concert, maybe around 10.000 audiences : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7naMteuoOB8
