The official Playstation blog has been updated with an article detailing Yakuza 5’s digital launch on the Playstation Network in North America. While the release dates have yet to be announced, you can pre-order the digital copy by visiting its PSN page here. The game’s price is regularly $39.99, but is currently discounted 15% which brings it down to $33.99. If you do decide on buying it early, you will receive a free static PS3 theme featuring the main characters of the game.
There is also shared information about other features that will be included in the game when it launches on PSN. Every Japanese DLC will be localized, including “Another Drama”, which are side stories for each main character where they participate in dance battles and becomie a taxi driver. All the added content will be featured in the European release too.
The in-game arcade “Club Sega” will also come with the same content as it did in Japan for the Western release. Players who visit the arcade can play a round of Virtua Fighter 2 and Namco’s rhythm game Taiko no Tatsujin. This is surprising news actually, as Taiko no Tatsujin games have never been localized since the Playstation 2 entry. It has fun gameplay regardless of having the famous drum controller, so be sure to give Namco your requests to bring that series back overseas if you enjoy it.
Finally, the third part of the Yakuza 5 developer interview has been uploaded to watch. This installment will answer questions about the game and talk about the music of the series. You can check it below!
Hoping Ishin is next.
