Yakuza producer Toshihiro Nagoshi appeared on a new video posted on the official Yakuza Youtube channel to show a bit more of Yakuza Kiwami, the upcoming remake of the original Yakuza game. First we get to see a comparison between the old game and the remake, and the difference is certainly remarkable. Additionally, some gameplay was shown which showcased the game’s combat and the “Majima Anywhere” system. The latter involves Majima making surprise appearances throughout the game to fight Kiryu. Yakuza Kiwami is scheduled to be released on January 21, 2016 in Japan on PS3 and PS4 in Japan. At the moment no localization has been announced, but it’s likely that the sales for the localized releases of Yakuza 5, and perhaps even more so Yakuza Zero on PS4, will influence the decision to localize Yakuza Kiwami.
