7th Dragon 2020 Fan Translation

7th Dragon 2020 Receives English Fan Translation

While SEGA’s RPG 7th Dragon III Code VFD will be released on July 12, 2016 in North America for the Nintendo 3DS, none of the previous games in the franchise were officially localized. But like with Valkyria Chronicles 3, that hasn’t stopped fans from translating the game themselves. After having already created a fan translation for the original 7th Dragon, Geoff Embree has now released an English fan translation for its sequel, 7th Dragon 2020. which was originally released in Japan on November 23, 2011 for the PlayStation Portable.

For more information on how to acquire the patch and possible problems that you may encounter, you can view Geoff’s blog post here. While at the moment it’s not clear to me if it’s possible to apply the patch to a digital download of the game, it’s nonetheless worth noting that the game is currently being discounted on the Japanese PlayStation store. You can get the game for around 1,300 yen, which is around $11 or €10. The direct link to the game’s PlayStation store page can be found here.

Thanks fanbase! 3 of 4 games, and the newest one released in America soon, that’s awesome news for a franchise that seemed banned from the western audiences!
