Idea Factory International has announced that they will bring over the Playstation Vita RPG Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls to North America and Europe this Fall. If you want to catch up with information about the game, feel free to take a look at our earlier articles. Unlike previous entries of the Neptunia franchise which featured Neptune as the main character, the ones in the starring roles are now If (representing Idea Factory, and a best friend of Neptune) and SEGA Hatsumi, a new moe anthropomorphized version of our favorite video game company.
The gameplay features new movement actions in dungeons such as climbing and crawling, and a new jumping mechanic during battle where jumping on rainbow gems can activate “Fever Time”. These have a chance to power up your characters and tip the scales in your favor. What makes this crossover interesting is how multiple versions of moe anthropomorphized SEGA consoles co-exist and meet one another. For those unfamiliar with Neptunia characters: Neptune personifies a fictional SEGA console while the character Uzume Tennouboshi personifies the SEGA Dreamcast in their universe. This makes for an interesting encounter, as the SEGA Hard Girls are of course also personifications of past SEGA consoles.
According to the official North American website, the game will be Playstation TV compatible and feature both English and Japanese audio. Aside from a digital version, both North America and Europe will also be getting a physical version of the game.
As a neat attention to detail for the localization, RPG Site pointed out on Twitter that the color of Dreamcast’s brooch is actually blue in the European version of the game. European Dreamcast owners will remember that SEGA changed the color scheme of the console’s iconic swirl to blue for the European release!
