SEGA of Japan has announced that the PS4 versions of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X, Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Future Tone as well as their PlayStation VR tech demo featuring Hatsune Miku (simply titled SEGA feat. Hatsune Miku: VR Tech Demo) will be playable at Machi Asobi, an anime event held in Tokushima in Japan from May 3 to May 5.
The following are the songs that will be playable for the Project DIVA X demo:
- Satisfaction
- LOL -lots of laugh-
- Cool Medley – Cyber Rock Jam ~
The songs for the Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone demo:
- DECORATOR
- Sweet Magic
- Electro Saturator
The PS4 version of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X will also be playable at Niconico Chokaigi 2016, a festival organized by Japan’s video social website Niconico, taking place from April 29 to April 30. The festival is described as a “melting pot of Japan’s internet culture”, featuring games, anime, cosplay, Vocaloid, dance, etc. The songs playable there are the same ones listed earlier. Both festivals take place during Golden Week, a period of time spanning 7 days which contain four national holidays.
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X will be released in Fall 2016 in North America. At the moment, there’s been no word on a EU release. The PlayStation 4 version of Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone will be released in Japan later this year. A release in the West hasn’t been announced at this point. It might be worth noting that the official announcement still lists Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone as a digital download-only game, suggesting SEGA haven’t changed their mind yet on releasing a physical version. Lastly, the VR Tech Demo is still just a demo, but SEGA have said they may consider creating a full VR game. Given the fact that they’re now showing the demo again, it wouldn’t be surprising to see SEGA announce a complete Hatsune Miku VR game later on.
