Nintendo has released a new batch of screenshots for Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, the upcoming JRPG crossover game between the Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei series. You can view the new screenshots below. Two new English gameplay videos have also been posted by NintenDaan, who also wrote a lengthy preview article on the English version of the game at NintendoWorldReport. What does stand out in the battle video is that there don’t appear to be any subtitles for the character dialogue there. While it’s not particularly important dialogue, it would have been nice to have these translated as well.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE will be released for the Nintendo Wii U in North America and Europe on June 24. On Amazon.com, the game’s special edition has been selling out as soon as it becomes available, and it’s currently ranked 1 in the Wii U best sellers. Gamestop on the other hand still has copies available. A similar situation is occurring in Europe, where the special edition (labeled “Fortissimo Edition”) is currently out of stock at Nintendo UK and Amazon.de*.
This suggests that the game or at least it’s special edition, is selling better than expected. While the game sold only 23,806 copies in its opening week in Japan, it received favorable reviews, and it received the Dengeki Online Award 2015 as their game of the year. Personally, I’m looking forward to playing the game, as the presentation and upbeat atmosphere reminds me a lot of the recent Persona games, and that’s not a bad thing.
