Atlus recently published character class trailers for the Cestus and Masurao classes of Etrian Odyssey V. Let’s take a look!
The Masurao is an option for the Therian race. They are an offense-oriented class that draw from their sword techniques to attack the enemy. They’re also often the first to attack. Besides their fighting capabilities, the Masurao also possess unique skills – such as one that allows your party to encounter rare enemies.
The Cestus is an option for the Earthrun race. They resemble the traditional Monk class in design and it is intended that players make use of skills that draw from their strong special-attacking capabilities. Added benefits that come from using them include a counter-like ability, and an ability to bind parts of the body of the opponent, an important mechanic in the Etrian Odyssey series. Like the Masurao, The Cestus is also an offense-oriented class that is meant to be placed at the front of your party.
The game is due for release in Japan on August 4. No word on localization yet, but given this franchise’s past record with localization, it doesn’t seem likely that this game will be skipped. Especially since it is a mainline title!
If and when we get news, we’ll be sure to let you know.
