The latest UK All Formats video game sales charts courtesy of Chart-track shows Valkyria Chronicles Remastered debuting at #6, just behind Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright. In the PS4 specific sales chart, it entered at #4. While the game is being sold at a budget price, the game appears to be getting a much better reception this time around than its original release on PS3. Back in 2008, the PS3 version of the game failed to enter the top 40 in the All Formats chart, and only debuted in the PS3 list at #18.
It’s great to see the franchise finally get the recognition it deserved. What SEGA has planned for the Valkyria Chronicles franchise remains to be seen, as Valkyria: Azure Revolution isn’t being positioned as a direct sequel in the Valkyria Chronicles franchise, and as of yet there’s no sign of a potential PC/console port for Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3, or a potential Valkyria Chronicles 4. But what’s certain is that things are certainly looking a lot better now for the franchise than they did some years ago.
