Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X HD Demo Now Available on PS4 in Japan

Hatsune Miku Project DIVA X - May 27 - 03

A demo for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X HD on the PlayStation 4 has been released in Japan on the PlayStation Network. The demo features the songs  “Satisfaction”, “LOL -lots of laugh-” and “Raspberry Monster” and has a download size of 525MB. Some costumes can also be unlocked by playing the demo and successfully completing the Chance Time in the songs.

We gave the demo a try and uploaded a video to YouTube. Take a look below! Unless you’re in the United States, New Zealand or Australia, in which case YouTube is blocking the video because they rolled out Youtube Red in those regions. More on that here. But stay tuned, as we’ll be uploading a version of the video without the song Raspberry Monster, which shouldn’t be blocked.

In regards to the gameplay, the first thing I noticed when playing the demo is that the 60fps framerate, as one would expect, greatly helps the gameplay compared to the 30fps version of the PlayStation Vita. The graphics are solid, but I have to admit that it’s difficult to appreciate the difference with the PlayStation Vita version when you’re playing the game. The difference is far more apparent when you watch a video.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X HD for the PlayStation 4 is scheduled to be launched on August 25, 2016 in Japan. The release in the Americas on PS4 and PlayStation Vita will happen a few days later on August 30. A European release hasn’t been officially confirmed at this point. It appears that it might still be published by SEGA Europe. but given recent news, perhaps Deep Silver could end up assuming that role. Hopefully, we’ll get to hear more news soon.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X HD Demo Full Playthrough

Unfortunately the complete video is blocked in US, New Zealand and Australia.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X HD Demo Partial Playthrough

A shorter version of the playthrough, not featuring Raspberry Monster, but it can be viewed in the US.
