Things weren’t look particularly good for fans of SEGA of Japan and Atlus games at the upcoming Gamescom 2016, as games like Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X, 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse and Persona 5 (!) aren’t included in the lineup of games that SEGA Europe and Deep Silver will be bringing to the event. Gamescom is one of the world’s largest gaming events, held at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. Last year, it had around 345,000 visitors from 96 countries.
Fortunately, it appears Sony will at least be bringing two SEGA games to the event. The official German Sony PlayStation blog has listed all the games that they will be bringing to Gamescom, and it includes Yakuza 0 (playable in the PlayStation Truck & Mixed Zone) and Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live (at the PlayStation VR booth). While Yakuza 0 was already confirmed for a European release, Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live has only been confirmed for a release in Japan. That said, it appears it’ll only be a matter of time until it’s announced for the Americas and Europe, as it has already been rated in both Australia and Germany.
While I was hoping for a stronger presence from SEGA of America and Atlus at this year’s Gamescom, it’s good to see that there will be at least some presence from the Japanese side of SEGA at the event.
