Liberasion of Azure (which we also referred to as Liberation of the Blue Sky in earlier articles) has been one of SEGA’s more interesting mobile games in Japan, as its 2D side-scrolling beat ’em up gameplay sets it apart from the countless tower defense RPGs typically found on the platform. Today we learned a bit more about a previously unveiled crossover event between this game and the iconic Golden Axe series.
During the event, the mysterious army of Death Adder will invade the world of Liberasion of Azure, and its up to the Revolutionary Army to stop them. At the moment no gameplay footage of the event is available, but SEGA have released two illustrations used in the event, which show the characters Death Adder and the Bad Brothers. You can find these illustrations below. Starting on December 15, the event also received an official website which you can visit here. The choice of background for the website is perhaps a bit odd, as it seems to originate from Golden Axe: Beast Rider, a 3D Golden Axe game that wasn’t particularly well received upon its release in 2008 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. If you’re wondering what Liberasion of Azure looks like, you can find a recent video below, which shows the abilities of the Ranger class in the game.
