In a new update on the US and EU PlayStation blogs, the new PR Manager for Atlus/SEGA of America Will Chan has posted an update on Valkyria Revolution, a spinoff title from the Valkyria Chronicles series. The blog posts also reveals that pre-orders and limited launch copies of the physical PS4 and Xbox One game will consist of a limited “Vanargand Edition”, which contains several of extras. Unfortunately, it appears only the Americas are getting this version.
Aside from the game itself, this edition includes the following extra’s:
- Vanargand metal pin
- Soundtrack CD with 12 songs, composed by Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Stella Glow)
- Special outer box
While Europe again misses out on the special edition, those who pre-order do get the 12-track soundtrack CD. While the import reviews for the game that I’ve seen so far have not been positive, marking the gameplay in particular as a considerable step down from the original Valkyria Chronicles series, the soundtrack has received a lot of praise.
In addition, it’s been revealed that the release date of the game is set for June 27 in the Americas and June 30 in Europe. Valkyria Revolution will be released physically and digitally for PS4 and Xbox One, and as a digital-only title for PS Vita for the price of $39.99. You can view a few new screenshots of the English version below, as well as a teaser trailer for the game.
