SEGA Europe has posted another teaser for the PC release of Vanquish on their Twitter account, after already including a teaser image in the PC release of Bayonetta. The image shows the logo of the “Order of the Russian Star”, as seen in Vanquish, along with the text “2017”, suggesting we’ll be seeing a PC release of the game this year. Vanquish is a third-person shooter that was originally released on both PS3 and Xbox 360, and was part of a series of games that were made by Platinum Games and funded by SEGA.
While Vanquish isn’t as well-known as Bayonetta, it should actually benefit more from a PC release. Unlikely Bayonetta, Vanquish didn’t run at 60fps on console, instead opting for a 30fps framerate. As a result, if the PC version does in fact unlock the framerate (which I’m assuming it will), the end result will likely end up being the definitive version of the game. As usual, SEGA Europe appears to be in charge of the conversion, as is the case for most PC releases of SEGA. Seeing how we didn’t have to wait long to see Bayonetta released on PC after SEGA posted the first teasers, we will hopefully get more details soon. That’s some hype I’m having here. I really hope unlocked FPS don’t mess with the engine as in many other games, or if it did, they made the extra effort to solve the problem (doubtful, Valkyria Chronicles runs finally ok at 60 FPS, but at 144 it still clips through a certain map).
