Phantasy Star Online 2 Episode 4 Opening HD

SEGA Releases HQ Version of New Phantasy Star Online 2 Opening Cinematic (UPDATED)

In an earlier article we talked about the new opening for Phantasy Star Online 2, with a link to a low quality version of the opening, taken from a niconico live stream. SEGA have now uploaded a much higher quality 720P version of the opening to their Youtube Channel. You can watch it below!

SEGA is currently holding a closed beta test for Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 4 on the PlayStation 4 in Japan. Unfortunately there’s still no news regarding the release of the PC version in the West, which was announced almost four years ago but has yet to materialize. You can read SEGA’s latest official statement on the matter here.

SEGA Survey

SEGA Needs Your Feedback to Help Improve Their Games!

Today, SEGA has launched a survey and are asking fans to fill it out in order to help them improve their games. At Segalization, we can only applaud the initiative, as it’s always a good idea to stay in touch with your core fanbase! I’ve completed the survey before writing this article, and I can say that there’s definitely a good opportunity here to let SEGA know how you feel about them. Depending on how many favorite games you have, this may take a while to complete (I’d estimate somewhere between five minutes to half an hour), but you don’t often get an opportunity like this to send your feedback to SEGA!

Saki Fujita Demonstrates KanColle Arcade gameplay

Saki Fujita and Yuka Ōtsubo Demonstrate KanColle Arcade Gameplay

SEGA have uploaded a lengthy video for SEGA AM2’s arcade game KanColle Arcade (which we talked about in our JAEPO 2016 article), with voice actresses Saki Fujita (who provided the voice samples for Hatsune Miku) and Yuka Ōtsubo demonstrating how the game is played. Fair warning before you watch the video: the voice actresses spend quite a bit of time touching the Kanmusu’s (“fleet girls”) bodies via the arcade cabinet’s touch screen to get a reaction out of them. Additionally, enemy attacks can sometimes partially shred the girls’ costumes, revealing their underwear and/or showing cleavage. So this may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Below you can find a short overview of the gameplay shown in the videos, as well as the videos themselves.

Phantasy Star Online 2 Trailer 2016

Phantasy Star Online 2 Gets a New Opening Cinematic

Dualshockers posted an update on their website showing the new opening cinematic for Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 4. The cinematic was taken from SEGA’s live niconico stream, and again features a setting on Earth, but this time we get to see the game’s heroes fight against a battleship that looks suspiciously like the Japanese battleship Yamato, the largest battleship ever built, which was sunk during WWII. In addition, fighter planes similar to the Japanese “Zero” (although carrying a different, fictional, roundel) appear in the battle.

SEGA at Japan Entertainment Expo 2016

Here’s a Look at SEGA’s Showing at the Japan Amusement Expo 2016

The 2016 edition of the Japan Amusement Expo took place some days ago (from February 19 to February 20th). At the exhibition, Japanese arcade game developers got to show their latest arcade games and amusement machines, and SEGA was of course no exception. This year’s showing from SEGA held little in terms of surprises. In particular, Virtua Fighter 6, a game many fans were hoping to see announced, was nowhere to be seen. On the other hand, what SEGA did have to offer showed that they’re still very much relevant in the Japanese arcade business. It also gives us some insight as to why the arcade game business remains relevant in Japan. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at what SEGA had to show at the event.
