Hyperdimension War Neptunia VS Sega Hard Girls Gets Two New Screenshots

Not too long ago, we posted the first two screenshots of Hyperdimension War Neptunia VS Sega Hard Girls in our previous article about the game. The official website has now been updated with two more in-game screenshots, which you can see below. Both feature IF, the game’s main character. One of them also seems to show the library, which governs the world’s history. The library will play an important part in the game’s storyline. Tampering with the books in the library can end up rewriting history, and when IF discovers that certain books have gone missing, she sets out on a mission to retrieve them.

The game is scheduled to be released on the PlayStation Vita, but a specific release date is yet to be announced.

Sega’s CEO Responds to Reactions of Fans and Media to his latest Famitsu interview

The latest Famitsu interview with Sega’s CEO, Haruki Satomi, generated a lot of interest from Sega fans accross the world. It seems Sega noticed this as well, as both Destructoid and Siliconera received a follow-up statement from Sega’s CEO:

Seeing our fans across the world respond to our recent interview with Famitsu, lets us know we’ve made the right first step in acknowledging who we are and where we want to be. Sega is dedicated to bringing you quality gaming experiences and becoming a brand you love and trust again.” — Haruki Satomi, CEO of Sega Games

It’s interesting to see the CEO of Sega reach out to the fans like this, and we hope it bodes well for the future. While these are still just words, it’s a positive sign to see the CEO reach out to the fans not just in Japan, but around the entire world. His comments directly addressed concerns from the fans regarding the localization of Sega games, and it’s a good sign that Mr. Satomi believes that games from Sega of Japan can also sell well in the rest of the world, as long as the quality is there to meet fans’ expectations. We look forward to see what the new Sega Games has in store for us!

Hatsune Miku DLC Announced for Persona 4: Dancing All Night

Atlus have revealed new DLC for Persona 4: Dancing All Night featuring Crypton Future Media’s virtual idol, Hatsune Miku. The DLC is scheduled to be released mid-August, and will feature the song “Heaven feat.Hatsune Miku (ATOLS Remix)”. As the name suggests, this is likely a remix of the “Heaven” song from Persona 4. IP Block Removed from SEA Version of Phantasy Star Online 2 (for now)

MMOSite reports that Phantasy Star Online 2’s SEA version is no longer IP blocking people from other regions, meaning anyone should be able to play AsiaSoft’s English version of the game at the moment, without having to resort to a VPN to circumvent the IP block. But while this may seem like good news, there are a few things to take into account.

First of all, it’s unlikely that this is a permanent change. Some fans have noted that this may just be an emergency fix, as the IP block appeared to also affect users from the SEA region. Additionally, the SEA version has been criticized for its translation, which “simplifies” some names. For example, “Monomates” was translated to “Health Drink”, and the “Force” class became “Wizard”. The SEA version is also far behind in updates compared to the Japanese version of the game. For those reasons, it seems most people prefer to use the unofficial English patch to play the Japanese version of the game instead. For those who want to try the SEA version of the game (as long as the IP block isn’t reinstated), you can visit the official SEA website here.

Sadly, there’s still no update on the US and EU release of the game. Officially, the localization is still ongoing. We can only hope we do see a surprise release eventually, although things are not looking particularly hopeful. There’s an ongoing petition from fans asking for news from Sega regarding the localization of the game, which is nearing the 1000 signatures mark.

Shenmue 3 Kickstarter Ends With a Record-Breaking $6.33 Million

The Shenmue 3 Kickstarter has concluded, and has now set the record of most funded video game on Kickstarter on a whopping $6,333,295 million, contributed by almost 70,000 backers. This means the total funding amount is more than triple the original $2 million goal of the Kickstarter. It’s a remarkably achievement, especially if you consider that this is the sequel to a game that was released more than ten years ago. On top of that, in North America Shenmue 2 wasn’t even released on the Dreamcast, and fans had to import the EU version or wait for the Xbox port of the game to continue the story.
