Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd E3 Trailer

With E3 2014 well underway, Sega have released a new trailer for the English version of Project Diva F 2nd which you can see below:

Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F 2nd E3 Trailer

Project Diva F 2nd is currently set for a release on PS3 and PS Vita in North America and Europe this fall. Sega also released some more screenshots on their flickr album, and over at SEGAbits, nuckles87 posted a preview of the game at E3, which you can read here.

Sega & Atlus Games Lineup at E3

E3 is about to begin, so we thought it would be worth taking a look at what games Sega and Atlus will be showing there. First off, here’s Sega’s lineup:

  • Alien Isolation (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)
  • Sonic Boom (Wii U, 3DS)
  • Hatsune Miku Project Diva 2nd (PS3, PS Vita)

Although it’s a small lineup, the games featured there aren’t exactly small titles. Alien Isolation and Sonic Boom are both big-budget AAA games, which we hope will turn out to be a success for Sega. After the disappointing reviews for Aliens: Colonial Marines and Sonic Lost World, the fans of both franchises will be looking closely to see if The Creative Assembly, Sanzaru and Big Red Button Entertainment can do better than the studios that worked on the previous games. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Preorders up for North America

Atlus has announced that you can now preorder Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, the sequel to Persona 4 Arena, for North America on PS3 and Xbox 360. The 2D fighting game will cost $59.99 and will be released on September 30th. Its predecessor had a Story Mode that lasted about 30 hours and directly followed the events of Persona 4, and aside from the main cast of Persona 4, it also featured the return of key characters from Persona 3. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will continue the story of the previous game, and also feature more returning characters from Persona 3 and 4.

Operation Rainfall/LAI Localization Poll Update

Our readers may remember a poll from Operation Rainfall’s website last year, where they let people vote on which Konami and Sega games they wanted to see localized the most. LAI, a company specializing in game localization, would then take those results to those companies and try to make a deal with them. On the Sega side, Yakuza was the most requested game, followed by Valkyria Chronicles 3. LAI and Operation Rainfall have now reported the results of LAI’s discussions with the companies involved. Unfortunately, it’s not good news. You can read their update on the Operation Rainfall website, but in short neither Sega or Konami were interested in making a deal with them.

Persona 4 Golden Discounted on PSN, New Anime Announced

While we haven’t reported news on games from Atlus before, the fact that Sega has acquired them does make their games part of Sega’s offering now. With that in mind, we thought it’s worth letting people know that Persona 4 Golden for the PS Vita (in my opinion one of the best JRPG’s out there), is now available at a discount on both the US and EU PlayStation Network.

On the US PlayStation Network, the sale is part of a bigger “Golden Week” sale featuring discounts on a large selection of Japanese games. The US digital version for Persona 4 Golden now costs $19.49, or $14.62 if you have a PSN Plus subscription. The sales will end on May 5th. On the EU side, there’s no Golden Week sale but despite that Persona 4 Golden is also getting a discount there. The price is slightly higher than the US Version, with the game now costing €19.99 (with an additional 10% discount for PS Plus members). The EU sales will run for two weeks, starting from April 30th. You can follow the links below to see what other games are being discounted:

Phantasy Star Online 2 Gets English Beta in Asia, Western Release Still Delayed

While Phantasy Star Online 2 remains delayed indefinitely in the West, it will soon be getting an English beta in Asia between the 10th and 13th of April. Predictably, the official Facebook page for this version of the game is getting flooded with questions regarding whether or not there will be IP bans for people outside of the officially supported regions for the game. It seems the situation is still unclear as to whether or not this will be the case, but several Western gaming websites have already been giving away keys for access to the beta.

Project Diva F 2nd Gets New Demo, Song and Modules Videos in Japan

Along with the recent release of Project Diva F 2nd in Japan, Sega has also released two new videos. One of them shows all the 40 songs that are available in the game, while the other one shows a collection of the game’s new modules that players will be able to unlock. You can watch both videos below. Additionally, you can now download a demo for both the PS3 and PS Vita version on the Japanese PSN. In October 2013 Sega had also released a demo for the PS Vita version of the game (which was only available for six days), but the new one features a different set of songs (“Packaged”, “Romeo and Cinderella”, “Like Dislike” and “Double Lariat”). For those that don’t want to wait for the release of the game in the Western market this fall, the full game is now also available for download on the Japanese PSN for 6,600 yen.

Project Diva F 2nd Western Release Confirmed!

Sega has just announced some exciting news for all the Project Diva F fans out there! Project Diva F 2nd will soon be released in Japan, and in light of that release Sega has confirmed that the game will be released in the West this fall on both PS3 and PS Vita! Since Project Diva F 2nd is one of the titles in our featured games list, this is of course very relevant to Segalization as well, and we’re glad to see Sega has decided to continue support the franchise. Sega also noted the success of the Project Diva F’s release in the Western market, and thanked the fans for their support. This time around, they have also confirmed that both versions of the game will receive a retail release, although it’s not clear if Europe will get those as well.

Project Diva f Released in Europe

Earlier this week, Sega released Project Diva f in Europe, one week after the launch in the US. Before the launch, the price tag of the game shown on the official website seemed unreasonably high compared to the price of the US version (€36,99, or $51), but Sega changed the price on the launch day to a more reasonable €29,99. While that’s still more expensive than the US version, it seems to be in line with the pricing applied to most other European PS Vita games. The DLC on the other hand gets a more favorable conversion. Here are the prices for all Project Diva f related content on PSN as listed on the official EU PSN blog:

Samurai & Dragons Gets Exclusive Sakura Wars Cards

Starting from February 12th and up until February 19th, players of Sega’s free-to-play PS Vita game Samurai & Dragons can acquire a selection of exclusive Sakura Wars cards. However, even though the game has been localized into English, it was only released in Japan and certain Asian countries. The game is similar to the mobile game Kingdom Conquest (also from Sega), in the sense that it combines three different gameplay modes. One of those lets you control a character of a certain class directly where you fight various monsters in dungeons, another is a strategy mode where you build and manage your base, and the last one consists of a card battle mode where you fight against other players over territory.

While the news of Sakura Wars cards being added to a game that’s not even available in the US and the EU isn’t exactly all that relevant to us, it’s still rare to see an official English webpage from Sega featuring the Sakura Taisen series, so we thought it might be worth sharing the link. You can find the webpage for the exclusive promotion here.
