Etrian Odyssey V - Warlock Trailer

Etrian Odyssey V Gets Two New Trailers Detailing Warlock Class and Class Skill System

Atlus has uploaded two new trailers for their upcoming Nintendo 3DS RPG Etrian Odyssey V: The End of the Long Myth. The first one shows the game’s Warlock class in action. The Warlock is a ranged attacker which uses elemental-based magic (such as the Fireball and Lightning attack shown in the trailer) to destroy the enemy.

The second trailer shows the Class Skill system in more detail. When you meet certain conditions and become a “Master” in your profession, you’ll get to choose one of two names to assign to your character. Each name has its own set of new skills that your character will then be able to use. You can view both trailers below.

Etrian Odyssey V: The End of the Long Myth will be released in Japan on August 4th 2016.

PSO2 Web Commercial PS4

PS4 Version of Phantasy Star Online 2 Gets a New (Silly) Web Commercial in Japan

The PlayStation 4 version of Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 4 was recently launched in Japan, and SEGA has released a new web commercial to promote the game’s various features. You can watch the commercial below, which gives an overview of the various elements of the game, such as the large-scale multi-player battles, the different settings. and the character customization system. Regarding the latter, one of the sillier parts of the commercial features a player who appears to be just a bit too excited about the breast slider feature in PSO2’s character creator.

Project DIVA X PS4 VS PS VIta - Luka

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X: PlayStation Vita vs. PlayStation 4 Comparison, Part 2

In an earlier article we already compared screenshots from the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita version of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X. With the footage from the PlayStation 4 version of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X that SEGA of Japan provided yesterday, we can now compare how both versions of the game look in motion. It should be noted though that the PS4 version is very much a work in progress, so none of what we see is final. In fact, as I’ll point out in this article later on, some changes have already been made to the game compared to the original screenshots.

Hatsune Miky Project DIVA X Release Date

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X Release Date Set for August 30 in the Americas!

SEGA of America has revealed the release date for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X in the Americas! The game will be released on August 30 for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The PlayStation 4 version will cost $49.99/CA$64.99, and the PlayStation Vita version $39.99/CA$54.99. While the Japanese PS4 version was labeled as an “HD” version in its name, in the Americas both versions of the game will simply be called Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X. You can view a new English trailer below, showing new PS4 footage that hasn’t even been shown for the Japanese version of the game. Clearly, it seems SEGA is really aiming for the market overseas with the PS4 version, with a release date in the Americas only five days after the release of the PS4 version in Japan. This makes is all the more unfortunate, and almost incomprehensible from a marketing standpoint, that a European version hasn’t even been announced.

Kancolle Arcade Launch Trailer

Kancolle Arcade Leaves Harbor in Japan and Gets New Trailer

The often delayed Kancolle Arcade (developed by SEGA’s AM2) has finally been released in arcades in Japan, and SEGA of Japan have revealed a new trailer to celebrate the occasion. The trailer shows 9 additional Kanmusume (“ship girls”) that have been added to the game, among them Mutsu and Nagato (both Nagato Class battleships, featured at the end of the trailer).

You can find the trailer below. The Kancolle franchise has proven to be very popular in Japan, to the point where it even got its own anime, and the launch of Kancolle Arcade is clearly an important one for SEGA’s arcade game business in Japan. As such, it’s probably unlikely that SEGA would consider porting it to console anytime soon.

NIS America Will no Longer be Publishing Atlus Games in Europe

Video game website MCVUK posted an article today, revealing that NIS America will no longer be publishing Atlus games in Europe. NIS America’s Managing DIrector Takuro Yamashita revealed that the company cut ties with Atlus ten days ago, stating that Atlus got “very picky about selecting the European publishing partner after it was bought by Sega.”. Following the reveal of this news, Atlus (and SEGA of America) PR manager John Hardin tweeted that the release of Odin Sphere Leifthrasir in Europe will not be affected by these events. As such, it’s likely that this will be the final Atlus game published by NISA Europe.
