Sony Denies Claims That the PlayStation Vita Has Been Discontinued in the Benelux

Last week, the Dutch website Tweakers.net posted an article claiming that Sony had stopped selling the PlayStation Vita in the Benelux (an economic union comprising three neighboring countries in Europe, namely Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg). The information seemed credible, as the website contacted two major online retailers in the region, one of which outright confirmed they would not be selling the PlayStation Vita anymore, and the other stating they no longer had the handheld in stock, and would not be getting more in the foreseeable future. The website tried to contact Sony, but only got to hear from a spokesperson that they had “nothing to report” regarding the PlayStation Vita, and that they would not be making any further commentary.

SEGA Europe Responds to #TakeMyMoneySoE Fan Campaign

Yesterday, SEGAbits and Sonic Retro launched a new fan #TakeMyMoneySoE campaign, following a forum post by Overlord. The idea is to show SEGA Europe that they’re losing money by not bringing games like the SEGA 3D Classics Collection to Europe, even though they’ve already been announced for the US. In order to demonstrate this, SEGA fans in Europe are asked to write down the name of the game they want to see localized for the European market on a sheet of paper, together with a few bank notes totaling the cost of a regular game, take a picture of it and then tweet it to @SEGA_Europe with the #TakeMyMoneySoE hash tag.

Code of Joker S Gets Opening Movie Made by Production IG

SEGA of Japan have announced their turn-based arcade card game Code of Joker will be upgrading to version 2.0, which will be named Code of Joker S. They also revealed the new opening movie for the game, which can be seen below. Two new characters will be making their appearance, while the old characters will get a renewed design. The new characters are Shigure Kiriya and Lina Valentine (the latter is voiced by M.A.O., who regularly voices SEGA characters, most notably Dreamcast from SEGA Hard Girls).

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final Announced for the Americas as “Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse”!

Atlus U.S.A. have announced that they will be bringing Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final to the Americas! The game will be titled Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, and will be released for the Nintendo 3DS this summer for $49.99/CA$64.99. Both a physical and digital version of the game will be made available. Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse is the latest entry in the long-running Shin Megami Tensei RPG series from Atlus, and features a story that overlaps with that the original Shin Megami Tensei IV. Atlus U.S.A. has also released a blog post explaining why they changed the game’s title for the localized version. The official website for the game can be found here.

Atlus U.S.A. has released the third character trailer for Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, and this time it features the fairy princess Mercedes. Following the death of her mother, Queen Elfaria, at the hands of Demon Lord Odin, Mercedes finds herself tasked with assuming leadership over her kingdom, Ringford, and lead her people into battle to defend it.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X Screenshot Comparison: PlayStation Vita vs. PlayStation 4

SEGA of Japan recently revealed the first screenshots from the PlayStation 4 version of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X, and we thought it might be a good idea to compare them to their counterparts from the game’s PlayStation Vita version. To accomplish this, I captured screenshots from the PlayStation Vita version and upscaled them to 1080P, in order to compare them to the 1080P PS4 screenshots released earlier. As a result, the screenshots posted below from the PS Vita version aren’t really representative of the game’s graphical quality when you actually see it running on the PS Vita’s small, but high-quality, screen. Nonetheless, the game still looks decent when running on a Full HD TV. But given that the PS4 is a much more powerful system, we should expect a significant upgrade. So without further ado, on to the comparisons!

Take a Sneak Peek at the 7th Dragon III Code: VFD Bonus Art Book!

SEGA of America have posted a few of the pages from the bonus art book for 7th Dragon III Code: VFD online! The 28-page ( full color) art book includes designs from the game’s character designer, Miwa Shirow, and will be included with pre-orders and day one launch copies of the game in America. You can view the sample pages below! So far, there’s been no word on a potential EU release of the game.

Valkyria: Azure Revolution Blog Update Features Helena and Blum

Some may remember that the official Japanese website for Valkyria Chronicles featured a blog where the side characters Edy Nelson and Homer Peron exchanged thoughts about all sorts of topics related to the game. SEGA’s upcoming action-RPG Valkyria: Azure Revolution, set in the Valkyria Chronicles universe, now has a similar blog on its own website. This time, it features discussions between the childhood friends Helena Andersen and Blum Thomasson. Both are members of the Vanargand, an anti-Valkyria unit of the kingdom of Jutland. New Trailer Shows Phantasy Star Online 2 Gearing up for its Launch on PlayStation 4 in Japan

SEGA have released a new trailer featuring a ton of updates for the game, which will be released simultaneously with the game’s release on PlayStation 4 in Japan on April 20. The game is getting a small graphical update on PlayStation 4, but the PC version will be getting a new Tier 6 graphics setting which offers the same upgrade (we talked about this update in an earlier article.)

In an earlier trailer we also got to see the cast of Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation being added to the game. You can watch both trailers below. Unfortunately, SEGA have stated that there are no plans to localize the PlayStation 4 version. The PC version of the game was announced for the West back in 2013, but was delayed. At this point, it’s not clear if it will ever materialize.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X Remains in Top Ten in the Latest Media Create Sales Chart

4gamer.net have posted the latest Media Create sales chart for the week running from March 28 to April 3, which shows Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X dropping from its third place in its first week to ninth place. The game sold an additional 10,073 copies, bringing the total to 79,511. For reference, the PlayStation Vita version of Project DIVA F 2nd sold 16,111 copies in its second week (totaling 114,738 copies at the time). So it doesn’t seem like Project DIVA X will be recovering from its slow start. That said, the real test for the franchise will likely be the release of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone on PlayStation 4, as well as the release of Project DIVA X in the Americas.
