On April 22nd, Phantasy Star Online 2 will be getting several new updates. These include a new Ultimate Quest as well as new weapons, skills, Photon Arts, balance tweaks and various changes to the interface and team formation system. Phantasy Star Online 2 has seen a lot of cross-overs with other gaming franchises, and Bandai Namco’s Tales of Zestiria has now joined that list. Players can now acquire costumes from some of the main characters of Tales of Zesiria, more specifically Sorey, Dezel, Lailah and Rose. Interestingly, a costume for the character Alisha doesn’t seem to be included, and perhaps for good reason. There was quite a bit of controversy surrounding her character and the release of Tales of Zestiria (more information on that can be found in this Siliconera article). Be warned that visiting the article will expose you to significant spoilers regarding the development of Tales of Zestiria’s plot.

It’s time for another character trailer for Persona 4: Dancing All Night, this time featuring Yukiko Amagi. In Persona 4 she’s one of Yu Narukami‘s classmates and also Chie Satonaka‘s best friend. Her family runs a local hot springs called the Amagi Inn. In Persona 4, we learn that everyone expects Yukiko to inherit the inn, but she secretly had doubts about becoming the inn’s next manager. We also learn that she’s a terrible cook, something which is alluded to at the very end of her character trailer.
It appears someone spilled the beans on an upcoming sequel for Project X Zone on 3DS ahead of the game’s official reveal. Italian website e-duesse posted an article detailing some of Bandai Namco’s upcoming games. The list included two new titles, Project X Zone 2: Brave New World and Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul. The article has since been edited to remove the two titles, but not before the information was posted on NeoGAF. The Saint Seiya game has already been officially confirmed, and it’s probably only a matter of time until the same is done for Project X Zone 2.

Atlus has released a new trailer for Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight. This time, the trailer focuses on the protagonist of the game, the soldier tasked with the duty of protecting Princess Arianna. The trailer also shows his ability to transform into a demonic form in battle, which InTheSky talked about in an earlier article. You can watch the video below. The game is scheduled to be released in North America this summer.
Etrian Mystery Dungeon, the roguelike cross-over between the Etrian Odyssey and the Mystery Dungeon franchises, is now available in the US. Overall, the game has been receiving favorable reviews, often praising the game for successfully combining the formula of the two different franchises, and also noting the game provides a challenge even to gamers familiar with the genre. In light of the release, Atlus USA has posted a new unboxing video for the game, which you can watch here:
On their blog, Atlus revealed the cover and tracklist (entirely in Japanese) for the upcoming Etrian Mystery Dungeon Soundtrack. The soundtrack will include all of the BGM and additional tracks from the game on 2 CDs, each CD containing 16 tracks. It’s worth noting that the composer of the soundtrack is Yuzo Koshiro, who (aside from his work on the Etrian Oddysey games) also worked on the soundtrack for games from several Sega franchises, including Shinobi, Street of Rage and Shenmue. You can find three BGM preview videos of the soundtrack below, they’re well worth a listen.
Another character trailer has been released for Persona 4: Dancing All Night, this time featuring Kanji. Those who played Persona 4 know Kanji is a more complex character than you might initially expect him to be. While he acts though, it’s mostly just a facade, and he eventually becomes good friends with the other main characters of Persona 4. Like the rest of the team, Kanji is now making a return in Persona 4: Dancing All Night, once again determined to help his friends. You can view his character trailer below. The Project Diva F 2nd DLC releases for the month of March come to an end with the release of the 3rd batch today. These include the Rhythm Game Songs “Rosary Pale” by Shinjou-P and “Promise” by samfree, four Costume Modules (“Hatsune Miku Cute”, “Kagamine Rin Cute”, and “Classic” and “Campus” for Kaito) and three UI skins. UPDATE: Sega has confirmed that the DLC release for the EU has been delayed and will be released one week later, on April 8.
Atlus USA has issued a press release revealing the bonus items for Etrian Odyssey Untold II, which will be available only for pre-orders and first-run printings.
