Developer tri-Ace Acquired by Nepro Japan
Mobile company Nepro Japan have announced they have acquired developer tri-Ace, best known for Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile and Sega RPGs Resonance of Fate and Phantasy Star Nova.
Nepro Japan primarily works with the mobile industry, providing both gaming and non-gaming services. Nepro Japan plans to strengthen and expand their mobile gaming business, which leads them to buying the RPG developer. Prior to purchasing tri-Ace, Nepro also already owned developer Mobile and Game Studio (MGS) who are best known for the Square-Enix arcade series Lord of Vermillion and Capcom’s Okami sequel Okamiden on DS. While Nepro Japan intends to release more mobile games in the future, it is unclear if tri-Ace can be contracted by other companies to make sequels (seeing as Square and Sega own their respective properties that tri-Ace has worked on) or will be making other console games at this time.
Persona 4: Dancing All Night Q&A from Producer
Producer Kazuhisa Wada has shared new information about Persona 4: Dancing All Night by answering fan questions on the official website. It’s in Japanese, but Siliconera has translated the Q&A for English readers.
Regarding the game’s release, the game will released both in physical and digital copies as well as music and costume DLC. There are no plans for a demo on the PlayStation Store but one may show up at events.
Persona 4: Dancing All Night’s story takes place shortly after the end of Persona 4 Golden. Nanako is supposed to play a big role, but while she can dance she won’t be doing any fighting. Curiously, a fan asked if Hanako Ohtani will be dancing, but Wada answered no.
To play the game you must time your button presses to notes that will move from the middle of the screen to one of six areas. Type of notes will require either a simple button press or a longer hold. Touch controls were mentioned, but it’s not clear if there are just part of the control scheme or if the game can be played entirely using this method. Wada said a tutorial video will be revealed to help explain the gameplay. The game’s difficulty settings are: Easy, Normal, Hard, and All Night. The difficulty is quite flexible, Wada explained you can make the game even easier on story mode or those looking for a challenge can unlock rewards for full-combo scores on songs. Outside story mode, players can earn new songs by playing “Free Dance” and view character models in some kind of gallery mode. Wada mentioned that each each character will have many costumes to wear and you can see the effort put into each one this way.
Persona 4: Dancing All Night releases in Japan on June 25th and is tentatively set to release in 2015 for North America. The game will only be available for the Playstation Vita, but the Q&A mentioned the game will be compatible with the Playstation TV.

Discotek Media licenses Seha Girls and Shining Tears X Wind Anime
Anime licensing and publishing company Discotek Media teased on Facebook back in December about the many series they will license next. After much waiting, they did not disappoint. Anime fans can look forward to home releases for titles such as Free!, the much anticipated return of Robot Carnival and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Discotek have even picked up video game adaptations such as Night Warriors (Darkstalkers), Street Fighter II the Movie and two anime based on Sega properties: Hi-sCool! Seha Girls and Shining Tears X Wind.
Seha Girls aired last fall, featuring moe anthropomorphized Sega consoles. You can read my impressions, the anime should not be missed for long time fans because it showcases many popular Sega games with tastefully done gags. Shining Tears X Wind is an adaptation of both Shining Tears and Shining Wind first aired in 2007. Shining Tears is the only title of the two with a localization, so the anime can help fans enjoy the Japanese only sequel.
Discotek have not shared release dates for both series as well as the other anime being licensed. While they announced Blu-Ray editions for a few anime films, Seha Girls and Tears x Wind may not be in this format.

Atlus to Stream “Flash! Persona Channel 2015” Event
Atlus have announced they are holding a stream on Nico Nico Douga and Persona Channel on February 4th. It is scheduled prior to the upcoming “Persona Super Live 2015” concert, which will feature music from Persona 3 and 4 as well as tease information about Persona 5. The livestream is to be a massive 30+ hours about the Persona series. What information could possibly fill that length? 30 hours is excessive but Atlus claims it will help newcomers catch up with the franchise and to show off its charm.
