Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Demo Released in Japan, New Game Modes Revealed

Atlus have launched a demo for Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, the HD remake of the original Odin Sphere on the Japanese PlayStation Store. The demo was made available simultaneously for PS3, PS4 and PS Vita. It doesn’t feature any content from the actual story mode of the game. Instead, it lets you play through various stages with the five main characters, and fight the boss “Belial” at the end.

For those interested, we downloaded the demo and uploaded the game’s opening sequence in 1080P to our Youtube channel. The game looks gorgeous in 1080P and 60fps on the PlayStation 4, so it’s well worth a look. You can find the video after the break!

Shin Megami Tensei IV Final: New Three Minute Promotional Video

Atlus uploaded a new promotional video for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final to their Japanese YouTube account earlier this week. There’s a lot on display – some new music from the game (sounding nice, in my opinion,) new animated sequences, new dungeons and environments, and even some old faces if you manage to spot them. Brief cuts of the seven partner characters are also shown off, alongside battles and demon fusion.

Continue reading to check out the trailer. Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final is set to release on the 10th of February in Japan, but there’s no word on localization outside of Japan as of yet.

Famitsu Christmas 2015 SMT IV Final

Shin Megami Tensei IV Final: New Partner Characters Introduced

The most recent issue of Weekly Famitsu introduced more Partner characters for Shin Megami Tensei IV Final. Gaston, the new guy wearing lots of white, represents the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado’s Samurai legion (just like many of the characters in the first Shin Megami Tensei IV game.) The young man sporting grey hair and a black and yellow outfit is Hallelujah of Ashura-kai, an organization that had attempted to “coexist” with demons using some very alarming methods. And the purple and black figure with the Japanese demon mask is Toki of the Cult of Gaia. They oppose the Ashura-kai’s philosophy and espouse maximal liberty and “Rule by the Strong.”

This is a great collection of people who probably disagree heavily with each other! Gaston certainly doesn’t seem the type to play nice.

This collection of different personalities might be how one takes advantage of the multiple endings that this game is purported to offer. In any case, we’ll find out more when the game releases in Japan in February. No word on localizations yet.

Genei Ibun Roku #FE “Performa Festival” Shows a New Duet Between Kiria and Tsubasa

A Niconico livestream dubbed the “Performa Festival” was aired on December 17th, featuring new footage from the game and live voice acting sessions from the game’s voice actors. YouTube user Lianyide grabbed what seems to be the highest quality copy of the duet between Kiria and Tsubasa that’s currently available online, and you can view that video below. Perfectly Nintendo also captured the live gameplay and voice acting sessions, as well as a live performance by Inori Minase (voice actress of Tsubasa Oribe) performing the song “Feel”. We also included that video after the break. Be aware that since these are Niconico recordings, the video quality isn’t that good.

Genei Ibun Roku #FE will be released on December 25, 2015 in Japan for the Wii U. A release in the West is scheduled for 2016.

Genei Ibun Roku #FE – Extra Skills, New Character and Enemies!

This has been another big week for Genei Ibun Roku #FE news, and it stands to reason because in one week from now the game will be released in Japan!

First, this week’s edition of Weekly Famitsu unveiled a new character named Chikaomi Tsurugi. He has a rather ominous look to him. Nintendo has given him a short profile on the Genei Ibun Roku #FE official website’s sub character section. If you haven’t already done so, check out the larger profiles for the  main characters too.

The official website also saw a few other updates. I’ll draw your attention to this Enemy section which features six major Mirage enemies, all themed after one of six colors: green, blue, purple, orange, pink, and red. They’re also named after Fire Emblem characters – from left to right, top to bottom, it’s: Abel, Lon’qu, Aversa, Gangrel, Garrick, and Excellus.

SMT IV Final Animated Trailer

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final’s Animated Promotional Trailer

Atlus uploaded an animated promotional trailer for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final to their Japanese YouTube account. It clocks in at a little under two minutes, and details the havoc that the continued war between deities and demons is wreaking on the human world. Let’s not forget that these powerful beings are not exactly looking to cooperate with humans either, aiming ultimately for the servitude of humanity in some form or another.

In any case, the protagonist of Shin Megami Tensei IV Final is apparently at the wrong place at the wrong time during a demon attack…and yet all the same, it’s an accident that will change his life and the course of history. What that ultimately means will be up to the player.

Nintendo’s official website for Genei Ibun Roku #FE has been updated with a new short “WebCM” video, alongside another developer blog post. The WebCM is under a minute long and is perhaps being used to advertise the game online. The developer blog posts have been produced rather regularly and are lengthy.

Continue reading to check out the trailer! The promotional phase leading up to this game’s release has been noticeably active, with trailers for each character and a variety of game concept and system trailers. Genei Ibun Roku #FE will hit stores in Japan on December 26, while release for Western regions is set for sometime next year.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final Formally Reintroduces Nozomi

We’ve seen her more than once in promotional media for the game, but in the most recent issue of Weekly Famitsu Atlus is now reintroducing Nozomi from Shin Megami Tensei IV to its sequel, Shin Megami Tensei IV Final. She was prominent in certain quests from Shin Megami Tensei IV, and in the sequel Nozomi is now a “fairy queen” following certain events of the previous game.

Famitsu describes as formerly being a high-ranking member of the demon-exterminating Outlaw Hunters, the same group to which the protagonist belongs. Considering some of the previous promotional material featuring Nozomi, it appears that she and the Polytheistic Alliance will be opposed (does anybody want to work with the Polytheistic Alliance?)

Nozomi has a casual but caring personality that willingly watches over others. Nozomi will be one of the partner characters available to the player in this game, besides Isabeau and Asahi. Besides all of the intense world-changing affairs of the Shin Megami Tensei IV universe, Nozomi has a love for photography.

Genei Ibun Roku #FE: Yashiro and Introduction Videos

Two new trailers for Genei Ibun Roku #FE have been recently uploaded to Nintendo of Japan’s YouTube chanel – one being another from the character introduction video series and the other being an extended Introduction Video that summarizes the game itself, clocking in at around five minutes.

Yashiro Tsurugi is cool and composed, and incredibly distant to the point of being stand-offish. He’s an accomplished idol unlike some of the other members of the cast. Perhaps the pursuit of success has warped Yashiro’s personality? Or does it have to do with a certain incident in the past that he’s tied to, wherein a number of performers seemingly vanished into nothing? He’s also got heterochromia, and that bright blue iris certainly stands out compared to the rest of his color scheme.

Also, note that Introduction Video starts off with “ATLUS X Fire Emblem.” It’s an interesting pivot from when this project was first introduced as “Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem” years ago but conceptualizing it now as Atlus X Fire Emblem does seem to make the most sense. The Video itself covers all of the bases of the game, but another reason to watch it is for the flashy and dramatic battle sequences. Performances are the lifeblood of this game’s concept after all.

Anyway, continue reading to check out both videos!
