Genei Ibun Roku #FE Toma

Genei Ibun Roku #FE Trailers: Featuring Toma and More

Another week, another round of Genei Ibun Roku #FE trailers! There are three for this article after the break.

First is the trailer for Toma. Toma is a spirited guy who is also quite genial and laid-back. He’s all-in-all lovable. The World trailer walks you around Japan, passing passers-by and engaging in the occasional conversation. It’s a rather nice touch that characters that you can’t interact with are portrayed as moving colored silhouettes – it adds to the colorful and poppy feel of the game, and conveys just how populated the world is. The trailer takes a sharp change in tone after a minute or so, though, thanks to the Mirages.

Last is a System trailer showcasing a dungeon and some battles. The Dungeons are wrought with the influence of Mirages and are dark reflections of locations within Tokyo. Genei Ibun Roku #FE does not feature random encounters; battles start when you make contact with an enemy in the dungeon. Battles are turn-based and you fight in groups of three (and also have a sub-cast of currently inactive party members.) After the battle is won, players are treated to experience points, skill points (which you can use to acquire skills of your choosing), money, and Performa (used for weapon crafting.)

Stella Glow English “Witches” Trailer, Demo Planned for October 27 Release

Atlus has released a new trailer for Stella Glow‘s upcoming North American (November 17!) release. It features the four “good witches” of Stella Glow: Lisette, Sakuya, Popo, and Mordimort. They are themed after classical elements, and feature colorful personalities of their own. Frequent readers of our site may remember that the Japanese promotional phase for Stella Glow saw individual trailers for the witches, but this is essentially the same thing.

In addition to releasing a trailer, Atlus have announced the release of the Stella Glow demo for North America. It’s set to be available on October 27, and allows players to test out the prologue chapter of the game. However, data can’t be carried over to the full release as was the case with such games as The Legend of Legacy (which was released earlier this week in North America, by the way.) Perhaps it’s just me, but carrying over data from demos to a full game of RPGs recently seems to feel closer to the norm than away from it. Nevertheless it’s better to be informed of whether or not such a feature will be available!

Stella Glow Alto Regnant Knight

Stella Glow: “The Knights of Regnant” Trailer

AtlusUSA is producing English trailers to promote the English release of Stella Glow. This trailer covers the “Knights of Regnant” – more specifically, the 9th regiment of the Knights which features the protagonist Alto and his squadmates Rusty, Archibald, and Klaus. Alto is a spirited young man and acts as you’d expect from a lead protagonist. Klaus is a knight commander who is even-keeled. Archibald possesses a gruff exterior and a strong sense of camaraderie and nobility. Rusty tends to have his mind more on social things than battle or politics. Collectively the Knights of Regnant are tasked with recruiting Song Witches to fight the evil Witch Hilda.

This video is important because it allows viewers to take a look at the English voice acting! Be sure to keep both eyes and ears peeled. Check it out below.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir Gwendolyn Character Trailer

Atlus is releasing character trailers for the main characters of Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, a remastered port of Vanillaware’s Playstation 2 RPG. The first character to star in a trailer is Gwendolyn. She’s considered to be the central playable character and her story is the first you’ll be introduced to when you start the game. You can watch the trailer below.

Gwendolyn is the princess of Ragnalival and daughter of the Demon Lord Odin. While she is a skilled valkyrie on the battlefield, she also grew up in her sister’s shadow.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir will come out on January 14th, 2016 in Japan. Atlus USA will be bringing the game over to the Americas sometime in 2016.

New Genei Ibun Roku #FE Characters and Mirages

This week new characters and Mirages were revealed for Genei Ibun Roku #FE, the Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem-inspired Atlus work.

Barry Goodman is a former musician who comes to Japan to learn more about otaku culture. He eventually ends up as the trainer for the protagonists on their music career. Barry is also voiced by Yuichi Nakamura – a prolific voice actor who also voiced Kurt Irving in Valkyria Chronicles 3!

Mamori Minamoto is an elemental school student and a Mirage Master. She belongs to the same entertainment agency as the protagonists. She’s a fan of Showa-era performances and music. Mamori is voiced by Kaori Fukuhara. Draug, from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, accompanies her.

Mirages were also revealed this week for some previously announced characters:

Virion, from Fire Emblem Awakening, accompanies Eleonora Yumizuru.

Tharja, from Fire Emblem Awakening, accompanies Kiria Kurono.

Credit for the information goes to this Gematsu article. The Hachima article that Gematsu sourced didn’t have media for all of the characters and Mirages, but they’re sure to come out in the future.

Legend of Legacy Filmia

The Legend of Legacy Demo Available on North American eShop

Yesterday a demo for the Atlus-localized and FuRyu-developed The Legend of Legacy hit the Nintendo 3DS eShop for North American users. The demo is 2328 blocks, and isn’t advertised under the demo section – the best way to find the game is to search through the eShop catalog. Be sure to check it out! You can choose any character, and the demo allows you to check out the prologue and the first two dungeons of the game. Additionally, if you maintain a save file while playing through the demo, the progress that you do make (albeit with story and leveling caps attached to it) will be transferable to the full game.

Additionally, the last three remaining trailers for the game’s cast have also come out. Owen is the Mercenary, the expert combatant. Eloise is the Alchemist, a woman who is pursuing eternal youth. Then there’s Filmia, the Frog Prince, who seeks to claim a kingdom that is his. I’m not sure who exactly would be in his way, because he seems to be a pretty popular character online!

The Legend of Legacy releases in North America on October 13, with a Q1 2016 release window set for Europe.

P5Anime

Persona 5 Animation Project Announced

Atlus has announced an animation project for Persona 5. It appears to be a short movie rather than an extended TV anime series. Much like the announcement of the Ace Attorney animated series, details are pretty limited right now.

Some may be bewildered by the announcement of an animation project before the game itself has come out, but this isn’t unheard of. Sega’s Hero Bank is one example, where news of the animation surfaced shortly before the first game’s release. And besides, Persona is a prominent series for Atlus and surely they plan on making Persona 5 similarly as popular as Persona 4 is.

Additionally, the opening theme has been more fully revealed with a teaser at a recent Persona stage event at TGS. The artist behind the song is Lyn, and a video capturing footage of the event (after the break) shows off a verse and a chorus of the song. It’s pretty nice!

Persona 20th AnniversaryThere is also a special 20th anniversary project for the Persona series in the works, but not much else is known at the moment.
