On their blog, Atlus revealed the cover and tracklist (entirely in Japanese) for the upcoming Etrian Mystery Dungeon Soundtrack. The soundtrack will include all of the BGM and additional tracks from the game on 2 CDs, each CD containing 16 tracks. It’s worth noting that the composer of the soundtrack is Yuzo Koshiro, who (aside from his work on the Etrian Oddysey games) also worked on the soundtrack for games from several Sega franchises, including Shinobi, Street of Rage and Shenmue. You can find three BGM preview videos of the soundtrack below, they’re well worth a listen.

English Etrian Mystery Dungeon System Videos
While all of the new media from the April 1st Nintendo Direct has caused quite a stir, it’s worth noting that the last round of promotional videos for Etrian Mystery Dungeon were put out a week and half ago by Atlus USA. They cover the Explorer’s Guild and Amber’s Restaurant, two useful focal points in the game.
The game comes out on April 7th in the US for the Nintendo 3DS. Check out the videos after the break!
Etrian Mystery Dungeon: English Wanderer Trailer, Early Release DLC Plans
Atlus USA yesterday released a new character class video for Etrian Mystery Dungeon, featuring the Wanderer class specially made for this game. They’re different from the other classes – it seems they have more specialized attacks, and have skills that allow players to simply focus on moving through dungeons. Examples of these include Dig which plows through walls in front of your character, and Sudden Squall which scatters enemies about. Perhaps that will be the focal point of the Wanderer.
The #EMDMysterybox promotion continues this week. I’ll assume we all know the drill – go to Facebook or Twitter, share the Wanderer video, and let the magic happen.
It’s also worth noting that Etrian Mystery Dungeon will be supported by a free round of DLC quests in its first month after release in North America on April 7th. The DLC will later require payment to access on May 5th. This is actually the same batch of DLC that Japanese players were treated to following the early stages of Etrian Mystery Dungeon’s release, so it’s nice that those who purchase the North American version will be treated to the same content. The DLC quests are designed for players who may want more assistance easing themselves into the game, but they offer helpful rewards nonetheless. Courtesy of Gematsu, the quests are listed below, reproduced directly from this article:
- Find a Wanderer for me! Find the master chef Wanderer to unlock three new recipes for the Amber Restaurant! ($1.49)
- Find a Princess for me! Find the stray Sovereign to unlock a meal fit for a king in the Amber Restaurant! ($1.99)
- Find a Landsknecht for me! Find the adventurous Landsknecht to unlock three new recipes for the Amber Restaurant! ($1.49)
- Know the Red Pookas? Slay a Red Pooka wandering around the dungeon to receive a Golden or White potion for extra experience! ($1.99)
- Slay the Gold Guardian! Defeat an elusive Gold Guardian in the dungeon to receive a Nugget of Gold fragment for extra gold! ($1.49)
Once downloaded, the quests are available when speaking to Niralda at the Amber Restaurant. The last two are repeatable. After May 5th, the DLC quests will be priced at the levels shown at the end of each quest description shown above.
In addition to this, Atlus USA will be offering a 3DS theme for Etrian Mystery Dungeon at $0.99, available on March 31st. To get a look at the theme in action, along with the Wanderer video and its class description, continue reading.
Etrian Mystery Dungeon: English Sovereign Trailer
This week Atlus USA produced a trailer for the Sovereign (also known as the Prince/Princess) class. For a class with such a straightforward visual concept, they’re rather unorthodox. The Sovereign is a specialized support class that can add useful buffs to your allies’ attacks or give them resistances. You may even aid them in evading enemy attacks (scummy Ninjas looking out only for themselves, harumph, very ignoble.) They can also debuff your enemies. Why aren’t they more about the front lines? Well….noblesse oblige and all that.
As usual, the #EMDMysterybox promotion continues once again, so if you want to participate, share the trailer on Facebook or Twitter.

Etrian Odyssey Untold 2 Release Confirmed for North America
Atlus USA has announced (via Twitter) that Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight for the Nintendo 3DS will be released in North America this summer! While it’s not entirely surprising to see the game being localized, it’s still good to see confirmation. Unfortunately, there’s no news yet on a potential EU release for the game. You can read the official press release from Atlus here:

Etrian Mystery Dungeon: English Ninja Trailer, Atlus USA Livestream Archived Footage
This week, Atlus USA put out a character class trailer for the Ninja class. Ninjas attack quickly, can inflict debilitating status ailments, and make use of a variety of tricky techniques to give themselves an edge over opponents. The substitution technique “Decoy” allows them to counterattack while taking no damage. They’re here to win – don’t mess with them.
As usual, Atlus’s #EMDMysterybox promotion is continuing, so share the video on Facebook and Twitter if you want to participate.
What’s not usual is that Atlus USA recently live-demoed Etrian Mystery Dungeon for an hour. Technically they demoed it once before on a previous occasion, so this week’s writeup is really more just a little less “usual” than the typical weekly class trailers. But you get the picture.
Continue reading to check out the Ninja trailer, the Ninja class description, and the archived footage (placed on YouTube) of Atlus USA’s live demo! The footage lasts for about an hour, so avoid trying to watch this at work. There are better ways to indulge your wild side.
Etrian Mystery Dungeon: Japanese First Print Bonuses
Etrian Mystery Dungeon’s release date in Japan is March 5th. As of this article’s writing, that day in Japan has already arrived and interested customers are now able to pick up the game. Earlier this week, Siliconera produced an article on what additional spoils Japanese gamers could expect to find if they pick up a first print copy of Etrian Mystery Dungeon.
The bonus this time is a “new” publication of the Marukatsu Super Famicom magazine. Marukatsu Famicom was a prominent videogame magazine line in Japan run by publisher Kadokawa Shoten. Publication for the series was discontinued during the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo era. And so, first print bonuses of Etrian Mystery Dungeon will feature 52 pages of artwork and information on the game, presented in the form of a Marukatsu Super Famicom magazine. Also included is a music CD featuring six tracks from the crossover title, tucked away inside the magazine.
A video showing off the spoils was also uploaded to Atlus of Japan’s YouTube account. Continue reading to check it out!
Etrian Mystery Dungeon: English Hexer Trailer
Atlus USA released this week’s character class trailer. It’s the Hexer, and if utilized right a Hexer can put the fear into your enemies. Or confuse them, render them immobile, poison them – Hexers specialize in debuffing your enemies, crippling them and making them more vulnerable. It can sometimes be a more helpful approach than just simply attacking an enemy with strong spells or physical blows.
Of course, the #EMDMysterybox promotion is also continuing, so if you want to participate share the video on Facebook or Twitter.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon: English Dancer Video
Atlus USA’s weekly dosage of Etrian Mystery Dungeon character class videos continues with the Dancer. They excel at party buffing and possess unique attacks. They often move quickly, too, which can be especially helpful when buffing their allies.
Atlus USA’s #EMDMysterybox promotion is still continuing, so share the Dancer video on Facebook or Twitter if you’d like a chance at some Atlus swag.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon: English Gunner Video
Atlus USA’s weekly Etrian Mystery Dungeon character class video series continues with the Gunner class. The Gunners specialize in ranged combat, as you might expect, but what some may not know about them are their special skills that allow Gunners to bind the limbs of their enemies. This allows Gunners to bind enemies’ arms to prevent them from attacking, or bind enemies’ legs to hamper their mobility. Beyond that, Gunners can also attack in unconventional formations and fire healing bullets to their allies.
Atlus USA’s #EMDMysterybox promotion is continuing this week too, so be sure to share the video on Facebook or Twitter if you would like to enter. Continue reading to check out the video and to read Atlus USA’s description of the Gunner class.
