7th Dragon III Code: VFD OST To Be Released This Month

Famitsu recently announced the production of an OST package for 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, to be released December 23rd. What an opportune Christmas present, especially if you’re a Yuzo Koshiro fan! The OST includes 45 tracks across three CDs. Check out the Famitsu article at the start of this writeup to view the tracklist. After checking out preorder pages for Amazon.jp, HMV, and CDJapan, it appears the sale price is at ¥3600 with tax.

7th Dragon III Code: VFD released this past October. It was just shy of 100k before dropping off of the ranking of the top-selling Media Create games the following week after the above-cited link (maintaining a presence on the list for a good month or so.) Not bad at all for a turn-based RPG selling only in Japan.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final Formally Reintroduces Nozomi

We’ve seen her more than once in promotional media for the game, but in the most recent issue of Weekly Famitsu Atlus is now reintroducing Nozomi from Shin Megami Tensei IV to its sequel, Shin Megami Tensei IV Final. She was prominent in certain quests from Shin Megami Tensei IV, and in the sequel Nozomi is now a “fairy queen” following certain events of the previous game.

Famitsu describes as formerly being a high-ranking member of the demon-exterminating Outlaw Hunters, the same group to which the protagonist belongs. Considering some of the previous promotional material featuring Nozomi, it appears that she and the Polytheistic Alliance will be opposed (does anybody want to work with the Polytheistic Alliance?)

Nozomi has a casual but caring personality that willingly watches over others. Nozomi will be one of the partner characters available to the player in this game, besides Isabeau and Asahi. Besides all of the intense world-changing affairs of the Shin Megami Tensei IV universe, Nozomi has a love for photography.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final Demo Footage from Recent Niconico Stream

Atlus’s development staff for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final recently demoed the game on a SegaNama Niconico broadcast. Sega’s SegaNama channel is periodically used to show off new footage for Sega games, like Yakuza 6. NintendoEverything uploaded footage from the Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final to their YouTube account. Check out the footage below.

The archive shown below includes demon fusion and random encounters, and the dungeon appears to be some sort of underground waterfall area. The last four minutes or so include a boss battle against Sukuna-Hikona.

I hope everyone appreciates the esteemed Toshihiro Nagoshi’s presence in the bottom left screen, between the two female commentators. I think he’s….adding an air of sophistication to the stream. Or something. It’s hilarious and I like it.

Shin Megami Tensei IV Characters to Return for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final

Famitsu reports that the main characters of Shin Megami Tensei IV are set to return for the upcoming sequel: Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final. We’ve seen promotional images of Flynn, the protagonist, floating around earlier, but now we have the confirmation of his return along with the return of the three characters who represent the paths of law, chaos, and balance. Isabeau, Jonathan, and Walter will be returning, and their voice actors from the Japanese release are reprising their roles as well.

There are some story developments for each of the characters in this game as well. Isabeau is available as a partner character for this Final’s protagonist, as her goal is to avoid the Polytheistic Alliance of gods (a faction representing multiple entities) from contacting and working with Flynn. With the Outlaw Hunters (a group that this game’s protagonist works in) and the Alliance naturally opposed, Isabeau works towards their common interests. Jonathan and Merkabah are assimilated, and the entity oppose the efforts of the Alliance. Walter sacrificed himself on behalf of Lucifer, but he occasionally returns to his human form and has kept the memories of his life that Lucifer retained. Both Lucifer and Merkabah are naturally opposed to the aims of the Alliance. Lastly, Flynn is regarded as a great hero and the Alliance pursues him to advance their ideology.

It appears special bonus content will also be unlocked if you have existing Shin Megami Tensei IV save data on your 3DS. No words on the specifics of this content as of yet! Keep an eye out.

Stella Glow Now Available in the US, Launch Trailer Revealed

Stella Glow, the strategy RPG for the Nintendo 3DS developed by Imageepoch, launched in the US today. Its publisher Atlus U.S.A. has also uploaded the launch trailer for the game, which we included below. The game is available in stores and also in the Nintendo eShop. Worth noting is that those who buy the game on the Nintendo eShop will get a bonus in the form of an exclusive 3DS theme. Unfortunately for Imageepoch, Stella Glow is also their final game, as the company filed for bankruptcy earlier this year. The EU release for the game, published by NISA Europe, is scheduled for March 11, 2016.

Stella Glow EU Release Date: March 11, 2016

Following the recent announcement of The Legend of Legacy‘s release date on February 5th, NISAmerica has revealed that Stella Glow will release in Europe on March 11 of next year. It’s good spacing for both of the titles. It also means that most all recent Nintendo 3DS games under the Sega/Atlus banner have been localized so far, barring 7th Dragon III Code: VFD. The importance of including Europe in localization decisions is important, so as to avoid situations like Guilty Gear Xrd: -SIGN- or Shin Megami Tensei IV, though nobody involved wants to repeat anything similar to those titles again.

This was Imageepoch’s last title before they shut down. Besides this, they were also involved in development for the 7th Dragon series.

The Legend of Legacy EU Release Date: February 5, 2016

NISAmerica has recently announced a release date of February 5, 2016 for The Legend of Legacy, the 3DS turn-based RPG developed by FuRyu. Both physical and digital copies will be available for purchase. The game came out in North America a couple of weeks ago, if you weren’t aware (I have my copy, and started the game by choosing Bianca!)

NISAmerica also uploaded their own version of a character introduction trailer to their YouTube channel. This one features Bianca and Meurs. Functionally, it’s the same as what we’ve seen before, as it shows you clips of a character walking around, some battle scenes, and a couple of character-specific cutscenes. You can check it out after the break.

Project Mirai DX Review (3DS)

After reviewing Project DIVA F 2nd earlier, here’s my review of Project Mirai DX on the 3DS. While Project Mirai DX is also a rhythm game in the same vein as the Project DIVA series, the games are actually not all that similar. While the Project DIVA F games are aimed at a more mature audience and feature a rather high difficulty level, Project Mirai DX is notably easier and more accessible for newcomers to rhythm games. And while Project DIVA F at times featured somewhat risqué costumes, music videos and artwork (though nothing particularly scandalous, as evidenced the T rating by the ESRB), Project Mirai DX keeps things very family-friendly. The chibi design SEGA used for the characters is absurdly cute, and the tone is consistently upbeat and lighthearted.

Stella Glow “Harbingers” Trailer

AtlusUSA has released a new trailer for Stella Glow’s upcoming North American release.

This trailer focuses on the “Harbingers.” In some Japanese RPG’s you will see a group of antagonists, all with different personalities, who serve the main villain and whose often main purpose is to obstruct your progress and support the main villain. That is the role that the Harbingers serve here, as servants of the evil witch Hilda. The Harbingers are the bloodthirsty Dante, pompous and bratty Dorothy, and the dour and fatalistic Hrodulf.

Continue reading to check out the trailer! Stella Glow is coming to North America on November 17 while Europe can expect the game in March.
