Persona 5 DLC Packs Feature Costumes and Music from Previous Persona Games, Catherine and Shin Megami Tensei Games
Atlus (Japan) has uploaded a new set of trailers to their YouTube channel, featuring all of the upcoming Costume and BGM Set DLC that they have released for Persona 5 in Japan. While the DLC featuring the first Persona games’ costumes is available for free, the other DLC costs 800 yen ($7.64 / €6.95). While there’s no trailer for it, the game previously received swimsuit DLC as well, also made available for free to celebrate the fact that the game shipped 550.000 copies in Japan. Persona 5 is scheduled to be released in North America and Europe on February 14 for the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4. In Japan, the game was released on September 15, 2016.
Persona 5: Ann Takamaki Introduction Trailer and Interview with Her Voice Actress, Erika Harlacher
Atlus U.S.A. has released two new videos for Persona 5, focusing on one of the game’s main characters, Ann Takamaki. The first video serves as an introduction to the character, while the second one is an interview with her English voice actress, Erika Harlacher. You can find the videos and more information about Ann below, taken from the official press release. Persona 5 will release on February 14 in the Americas and Europe, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. Interestingly, the EU version of these video show a provisional PEGI 12 rating for the game, but we can probably expect to see that changed to a PEGI 16 rating when it’s finalized (like Persona 4 Golden).
Atlus Reveals the English Voice Cast for Persona 5
Yesterday Atlus U.S.A. already teased the English voice cast reveal for Persona 5, and today we got the details of the voice actors for the main cast. They also released two new videos: one introducing the protagonist (featuring several characters’ voices), and another showing an interview with the protagonist’s voice actor, Xander Mobus. Incidentally, the game’s ESRB rating has also been established: like Persona 3 and 4, the game will be rated M. You can find the details and videos below!

Persona 5 Cafe Opens in Japan!
The Persona official website published an announcement of a Persona 5 cafe opening in Japan! It will open from today October 14 (in Japan) to November 23 in the second floor of Pasela Resorts in Shibuya. Following the strong commercial performance in the first weeks of the game’s release, this is a welcome promotion.
The menu features eight dishes and eight different soft drinks. The drinks are shown above. Each item is themed after a different Persona 5 character. Some of the available food items include a tomato cream pasta, a basket of fried food (onion rings, fries, etc.), fondan au chocolat noir, and a dessert pizza. Some of the drinks include a mojito-inspired drink, a strawberry soda, and a coffee drink.
All drinks cost 650円, while prices vary for the food items.

Persona 5 Has Shipped 550,000 Copies In Japan, Free DLC Announced
Atlus has announced that the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of Persona 5 have shipped a combined total of 550,000 copies (retail + digital) in Japan. As you can imagine Atlus is pleased with these results, and as a thank you to the people who bought the game they will be releasing free DLC. One of them consists of swimsuit costumes for the game’s main cast (wearable in dungeons), while the other DLC consist of costumes, a BGM Special Set and Lambs’ Pillow accessory item, all based on the Atlus game Catherine. The swimsuit DLC will be available for free starting from October 5, while the Catherine DLC is free only for a limited time from October 5 through October 10 (after which it will cost 800 yen).
Sega-Sammy Revises Forecast, Expects Higher Profits for the First Half of the Fiscal Year
Sega-Sammy have released a revised forecast for the first half of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017 (from April 1, 2016 to September 30, 2016). While they expect lower net sales compared to their previous forecast, the contrary is true for their operating income. In particular, they expect to reach an operating income of 14,000 million yen (around $139 million), more than double the initial forecast of 6,500 million yen (around $64.5 million). Sega-Sammy attributes these results to several factors, which we discuss in more detail below.
Persona 5 Tops the Latest Media Create Sales Chart With 337,767 Copies Sold
The latest Media Create sales chart in Japan has been released, and it’s probably no surprise to see Persona 5 take the top two spots with respectively its PS4 version (264,793 copies sold) and PS3 version (72,794 copies sold). With a combined total of 337,767 copies, this makes it the strongest first week of sales for a Persona game yet, as the series’ previous record was owned by the original Persona on PlayStation 1 (201,147 copies sold).
Atlus U.S.A. Reveals the Cover Design for the Persona 5 Steelbook Launch Edition
Atlus has unveiled the cover for the Steelbook Launch Edition of Persona 5 in North America and (we assume also) Europe. The design features the entire group of Phantom Thieves (in their daily attire) on the outside of the case. On the inside it will have a clear disc holder that reveals a second design, showing the characters in their Phantom Thief outfit. You can view the image below!
