Persona 5 02062016 - 6

Persona 5 Online, And You, and the Phantom Thieves Alliance

Persona 5 will have newly-announced special online features that players can take advantage of that will add to the game-playing experience. What has been currently announced is not essential to unlocking or completing any aspect of the game, but rather is an additional feature for players to connect with their friends. For example, in the game’s daily parts you can see how your friends acted in similar situations that you’re currently experiencing, such as looking at how other friends responded to questions in school. On a given day when there are no dungeons or mandatory events involved, players also have the option to see what their friends did.

A central part of the online Persona 5 experience is the Phantom Thieves Alliance, a feature enabled through online connection to be used for battles and dungeons. It enables players to lower the Alertness Meter as you traverse dungeons, which can be helpful both for avoiding enemies and avoiding any locked areas due to increased security. In battle, the Phantom Thieves Alliance can be used as a substitute for dire situations wherein a party member is incapacitated and captured – the Alliance allows for stand-in temporary assistance from friends.

Persona 5 launches on September 15 in Japan! Meanwhile, the Americas and Europe will receive the game on Valentine’s Day, 2017.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X Review (PS4)

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X is the latest game in SEGA’s Project DIVA rhythm game series, and also the first to be released on the PlayStation 4. While there’s also a PlayStation Vita version (of which I played the Japanese import), it’s the English PlayStation 4 version that I’ll be reviewing here. With Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X, SEGA made several big changes to the traditional Project DIVA formula, perhaps in an attempt to revitalize the franchise which appears to be showing some fatigue in Japan. The question is if the changes were for the better? Read on to find out my thoughts on that!

SEGA has revealed the release date for Valkyria Azure Revolution in Japan. The game will launch on January 19 for the price on PlayStation 4 (7,990 yen) and PlayStation Vita (6,990 yen). The existence of a PlayStation Vita version is actually a big surprise, as the game was initially only confirmed for PlayStation 4. You can view a new trailer below, which doesn’t yet show the gameplay changes made to the game. For that, we’ll have to wait for the new demo, which will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show in September. The new demo will later on be made available in October on the Playstation Network for those who get a code at the Tokyo Game Show, or those who already owned a demo code for the previous demo.
