Ninth Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X Songs PV
Happy Hatsune Miku Day! March 9th is recognized as “Miku Day” in Japan, since “mi” and “ku” can refer to “3” and “9.” Miku Day is not the same thing as Miku’s birthday in Japan (August 31) but is nevertheless a widely celebrated occasion.
While Miku Day has passed in Japan, many of us in other parts of the world have not had a chance to celebrate. Give thanks to Hatsune Miku today!
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X Gets New Trailer and “Ultimate Medley” Screenshots
SEGA have posted their 8th information update article for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X, revealing screenshots of the game’s “Ultimate Medley” (which we talked about earlier), which is a medley containing some of the most challenging songs that were featured in earlier Project DIVA games. Shortly before that, SEGA also released a new trailer showing footage from the game’s Cute Medley, called “Idol Sounds” (arranged by Vocaloid producer Mitchie-M).
Live Quest Mode Gameplay Demo from Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X
Famitsu released a video of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X featuring a new addition to the series – Live Quest mode. My colleague Draikin has written articles on Live Quest mode previously, and now the video can act as a sort of visual synthesis for the detailed coverage he’s provided on this mode.
To summarize: there are five Areas in Live Quest mode, each of which are themed after the five Elements in Project DIVA X. The player is free to cycle between the five Areas at their leisure. Within each Area are Elemental-themed songs that must be cleared, and after clearing a song the player acquires Voltage that “restores” the Area of a particular Element. But any given Area cannot be fully restored without finally completing a Medley featuring songs of a particular Element.
Check out the video below! It lasts for a little more than five minutes and serves as a comprehensive overview of the Live Quest mode experience on the Playstation Vita. If you missed out on Rush Notes before, you can also see it in this video.
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X is due for release in Japan on March 24. We still do not have any word on localization outside of Japan.
Phantasy Star Online 2 Gets a New Opening Cinematic
Dualshockers posted an update on their website showing the new opening cinematic for Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 4. The cinematic was taken from SEGA’s live niconico stream, and again features a setting on Earth, but this time we get to see the game’s heroes fight against a battleship that looks suspiciously like the Japanese battleship Yamato, the largest battleship ever built, which was sunk during WWII. In addition, fighter planes similar to the Japanese “Zero” (although carrying a different, fictional, roundel) appear in the battle.
New Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Trailer Shows Improved Skill & Combat System
Atlus U.S.A. have posted a new trailer for Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, demonstrating the game’s skill and combat system. The remake of the original Odin Sphere has received a considerable overhaul of the gameplay mechanics, as developer Vannilaware used their experience gained from Dragon’s Crown to improve upon Odin Sphere’s original combat system. Each character has its own extensive skill tree, allowing players to customize their fighting style. To unlock and upgrade skills, you’ll need Phozons and Phozon Prisms, which can be obtained by defeating enemies and exploring different areas.
