Hatsune Miku Project DIVA X - May 27 - 28

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X Releases in Europe on August 30 as Digital Download-Only Title, Demo Announced for US/EU

SEGA of America and SEGA Europe have issued a new press release, revealing that Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X will be releasing on the PS4 and PS Vita as a digital-only title on August 30, 2016 (the same day as the release in the Americas). As such, the game will be available exclusively via the PlayStation Network. At the same time, they’ve also announced a new demo for the game, to be released on August 9. The demo contains the songs — Satisfaction, LOL -lots of laugh-, and Raspberry * Monster. In addition, the demo has various modules (costumes) to unlock, and featured the Easy and Normal difficulty (the full game has four difficulty levels). There’s also an Event Request where you can play the three songs in succession. The demo will be available on both PS4 and PS Vita, and is compatibly with PlayStation TV. Judging from the description, it appears this will be the same demo as the one released in Japan.

It’s of course unfortunate to learn that we will not be getting a physical release of the game in Europe. It appears this may have something to do with the fact that it appears SEGA Europe is still publishing the game in Europe, rather than Deep Silver. On the other hand, at least it’s a simultaneous release.

Atlus Caligula Announcement 03

Limited Run Games Expresses Interest in Releasing a Physical Version of Caligula

After Atlus announced a digital-only release for Caligula in the Americas and Europe at the end of E3 2016, Limited Run Games tweeted to Atlus that they should team up to release a physical version of the game. Atlus community manager John Hardin shared his thoughts on the matter on Twitter as well, saying that he doesn’t know whether or not a Limited Run Games partnership for a physical release of Caligula is feasible, but that (unlike with Yakuza 5) it may not be impossible. So it seems Limited Run Games may actually have a chance at making a deal with Atlus and FuRyu. Interestingly, John had actually anticipated that Limited Run Games would be contacting him regarding Caligula.

At the moment, Caligula is scheduled to be released in the Americas and Europe as a digital download title. The release date hasn’t been announced yet. Meanwhile, the game will be released in Japan on June 23.

At the end of E3 2016, Atlus U.S.A. still had surprise announcement in store. They’ll be publishing Caligula, an RPG for the PlayStation Vita which is being developed by Aquria, in both the Americas and the EU. Previously, Atlus had already worked together with FuRyu to release The Legend of Legacy in the Americas.
